Protest the hero
This guy recently featured on strobist.com has got a nice little video that goes over stuff he does at his shoots. I liked the tips on grunging up your models with corn syrup/food coloring and sunflower oil. He even does makeup.

It's Finally Here: My Book on Multimedia
Well, my book has finally arrived. Exploring Multimedia for Designers from Thomson Delmar (now Cengage Learning) is an exploration of what it takes to become a multimedia artist. The DVD included with the book has 20 lessons with 8 hours of hands-on Flash tutorials. The book covers subjects like: The creative process, audio, video, storytelling, animation principles and much more. Check it out (patting my own back).

One of my students just hooked me up with a link to this article which deals with how to get neat effects with long exposures even on cheaper camera models/flashes. Great stuff.
I Love Typography
It's not just a statement, but also the name of a neat new site focused on...well, you know what. Since I took on a new photography class, I've left out some of the other essentials of design on this blog, so check this site out for some typographical love.
Slow Sync
An excellent technique for capturing motion. Slow sync combines a slow shutter speed with your camera's flash for some dynamic shots. DPS (Digital Photography School) has an article with some excellent examples and a link to the how to for the technique.

A site with some visual descriptions of lighting setups for model photography. Sometimes seeing is better than hearing or reading.
